POM (polyformaldehyde) is an engineering plastic, also known as polyethylene glycol formaldehyde ester. It has some advantages and disadvantages, as described below:

Advantages:

Good physical properties: POM has high strength, hardness and rigidity, with excellent mechanical properties, such as high tensile strength, high modulus and high wear resistance. Its physical properties remain stable over a wide temperature range.

波音彩票Dimensional stability: POM has low hygroscopicity and is not easy to cause dimensional expansion or contraction due to humidity changes. This allows POM to show good stability in applications that require precise dimensions.

波音彩票Good corrosion resistance: POM resists the corrosion of some common chemicals, including hydrocarbon, ketone and ether solvents.

波音彩票Good wear resistance: POM has a low coefficient of friction and good wear resistance, making it excellent in applications with sliding parts and high reliability requirements.

波音彩票Good processing performance: POM materials are easy to process into complex shapes and can be used to produce various products by injection molding and other methods.

Wide temperature range: -40℃ ~ 130℃;

Cons:

Susceptible to heat: POM is easy to soften and deform at high temperatures, and its thermal stability is poor, while the thermal decomposition and softening temperatures are close.

Poor UV resistance: POM has weak resistance to UV rays, and exposure to sunlight can cause color changes and reduce the performance of the material.

波音彩票It should be noted that the advantages and disadvantages of POM in specific applications may vary, so the specific application needs need to be considered comprehensively when selecting materials.
